Blue Hour - Velvety mint-cacao
A calming herbal tea with peppermint, cacao, carob, and butterfly pea flower. Blue Hour steeps into a cool, velvety cup with soft cocoa notes and a naturally shifting twilight hue, capturing the moment between sunset and starlight.
Ingredients: Carob, Cacao nibs, Cardamom, Peppermint, Butterfly Pea Flower, Black Pepper.
Net Weight: 3.0 oz (85 grams) Loose Leaf Herbal Tea - Hand Blended in Small Batches
Steeping Instructions: Mix Well. Use 2 teaspoons per 8-10 oz water, just off the boil. Steep 7 minutes, covered is best.
Also delicious as a creamy dessert-style latte: Steep 2 teaspoons in 6 ounces of water for 10 minutes, covered. Add 1/2 tsp vanilla extract and 2 teaspoons meadowfoam honey to 4 ounces of steamed milk and combine. Add a chocolate drizzle if desired. Meadowfoam honey is a unique honey varietal with a toasted marshmallow-like finish, perfect for the soft, velvety mint profile of Blue Hour.
The story behind the blend:
Between sunset and starlight there is the blue hour. The liminal space where our vision softens, our perspective shifts and a dusky blue surrounds us.
The shadows appear to blend into the light for a brief time, and if you study things outdoors such as rocks, trees and other objects as the light fades, you notice things you may not notice in bright daylight. It's a very calming hour, but also stimulating as some senses grow sharper in the fading light. A beautiful time of day for short meditations.
I created this blend to honor this liminal space. The shifting light is reflected in the twilight blue of butterfly pea flower, mint is both soothing and stimulating, and gentle chocolatey notes from roasted carob echo the softness of the sky.
