A great addition to your morning routine or while powering through an afternoon brainstorming session. Bold enough to be infused more than once, try pairing this one with your favorite steamed milk, with or without honey. It also pairs well with coffee for a functional take on a “dirty chai”.

Ingredients: Rooibos, Cinnamon, Chaga, Cardamom, Ginger, Siberian Ginseng (Eleuthero), Star Anise, Clove, Orange Peel, Fennel Seed, Licorice Root, Black Pepper

Net Weight: 2.47 oz. (70 grams) Loose-Leaf Herbal Tea - Handcrafted in small batches

Steeping Instructions: Mix Well. Use 2 teaspoons in 8-10 ounces of water, just off the boil. Steep 8-10 minutes, covered is best.

Quick & Dirty Chai variation: Steep 2 full teaspoons in 8-10 ounces of hot coffee for 8-10 minutes, covered. Add your choice of steamed milk and honey (try meadowfoam or cardamom infused honey) For a more traditional dirty chai, steep 2 teaspoons in 8 ounces of water for 10-12 minutes, and add a shot of espresso with steamed milk. You can even just put a few teaspoons in a full French press!

Chaga and Siberian Ginseng may be traditionally decocted for further benefits. For additional extraction, simmer 2 teaspoons in 10 ounces of water on the stovetop, for 15-20 minutes, covered. Turn off heat and let steep 5 more minutes, then strain. This will be a deeper, richer cup. Still enjoyable, but much more potent.

Key Botanicals and Their Traditional Uses

Hearth & Horizon brings together botanicals and warming spices, long appreciated in traditional herbal practices for balance, vitality, and mental clarity.

Chaga - (Inonotus Obliquus)

A parasitic fungus that grows primarily on birch trees in cold climates, Chaga contains several well studied compound groups, such as: Polysaccharides Beta Glucans associated with healthy immune support and general resilience and triterpenoids such as betulinic acid derived from the birch host tree, polyphenols which contribute to overall antioxidant capacity, and plant sterols. Traditionally associated with long-term vitality and seasonal resilience, Chaga has long been brewed as a tea by indigenous cultures for general wellness and endurance.**

Siberian Ginseng (Eleuthero)

Despite the name "Siberian Ginseng" Eleuthero is a woody shrub and not a true ginseng, but it is widely used in similar contexts. It is particularly respected for promoting endurance, stamina and adaptability. Eleuthero contains a distinct set of compounds known as Eleutherosides which are glycosides unique to this botanical, often studied in relation to stress response. Traditionally used for both mental and physical fatigue and to support recovery, widely studied and used for mental performance.**

Rooibos (Aspalathus linearis)

Contains unique antioxidants including aspalathin and quercitin, along with trace minerals which contribute to its color, flavor and long standing use in herbal practices. Historically used for general digestive comfort. Very preliminary studies show possible benefits for blood lipids and glucose metabolism.**
