My flagship blend was born from the long path of learning how to belong to myself.
For years, I moved from place to place...new towns, new faces, new beginnings - always hoping the next stop would finally feel like home. But the truth is, home is not a destination you arrive at; it’s something you slowly grow into. It’s a feeling you carry, not a location that holds you. And somewhere along the way, while learning to trust myself more deeply, I came to understand that truth.
When I began blending Upper South, I didn’t set out to make anything symbolic. I simply wanted a cup that felt like stepping into my kitchen after coming in from a cold day: maple leaves scattered across the yard, the faintest hint of woodsmoke in the air, that soft, quiet warmth that settles into your shoulders the moment the door closes behind you. But as the blend came together, I couldn't help but think of all the beautiful people I've met along my life's journey and all of the places I've called home.
The gifts they make and share, the ways they add beauty to the world through their craft or their presence. I also thought about the landscapes, the way Elder grows all over the hillside I call home, and the beautiful yellow wildflowers that my neighbors have intentionally planted for the pollinators.
To me, Upper South captures the feeling of returning home after a long while away: that slow exhale, that subtle easing into your own skin, that gentle recognition that home isn’t a place you find again, but a state of being that grows quietly as you do.
This blend is a reminder that home can be wherever your feet touch the earth , a quiet peace that moves with you, settles with you, and waits patiently for you to claim it.
